Stripping the old paint off was actually an easy task. Since it wasn't
well bonded to car chassis we could for example "scalp" the engine hood
clean of paint in less than 20 minutes with a help of heat gun. Of course
some places paint was really tough but mostly it was done in few days.
And we also found out a reason why it could be stripped so easily.
This car has been painted twice after manufacturing and before first painting
surfaces have not been roughened enough. We found flawless factory paint
under second layer of paint. After one weeks evenings this is the result. |

I replaced both of these front panels in 1995. Original Porsche part
behind the front bumber still has paint intact when cheaper replacement
nose panel dropped it off. I really saved money in wrong place then. When
i got this nose panel it was already dented and had to modify it to get
it fit in place when original part just bolted in... |
