Just plain old fashioned ordinary
hovering. |
|
|
Very typical autumn day: Sun shine and about 15C (59F).
Hardly any wind, but some. Forecast was good weather for weekend. |
|
Day started foggy, but by the time we were ready to take
off fog was all gone. |
|
Two and one small dog onboard we left to take a cruise
on the bay. Unfortunately engine stopped just couple of hundreds of meters
from hoverport. I had a great difficulties of getting it running again,
but when i did there wasn't any problems. I thought of water in the ignition
system and fuel pump malfunction, but after taking a look under the hood
they both seemed to be working. |
|
But after experiencing something like this i didn't want
to go too far, just in case. There wasn't too many boaters out there to
lend us a hand if we got in trouble. We did a short spin on bay and i decided
to park the craft on a rocky island just to see if it was possible. |
|
Water being so high this time of year there wasn't really
nothing to it. I parked the craft and stepped out. In no time i heard a
familiar outboard somewhere near us. But had to take my binoculars to actually
see it. My father-in-law and mother-in-law had just finished checking the
fishing nets and i could see them heading our direction in their yellow
rain coats assisted by small Yamaha 5hp. |
|
We talked with them a while and then we both left back.
We had some difficulties getting away since craft was sitting on rather
round spot allowing great deal of air leak. But we got on our way with
more throttle and rocking the craft. |
|
On our way back we bumped into familiar swan family. On
a narrow section of river heading back to hoverport i had to crawl behind
them since they showed no intention to let us pass. |
|
After getting back i did check the engine, but still couldn't
find anything wrong and did many solo test drives. Everything was just
fine. |
|
Since there wasn't anything wrong with it i decided to
drive upstream and possibly do white water hovering. I got under two bridges,
but at the third one current was so strong and water so high that i could
pull the craft under the bridge. So i drove back to hoverport, without
any problems this time. |
