Explorer operation (2001-09-29)

Time to extend test drives.

Very typical autumn day: freezing wind, sun shine and about 15C (59F).

Since wind was quite hard it wasn't a weather for really extended drive, but just extend it little bit further than up and down the river from hoverport. At the time we took off wind was blowing 8-9m/s (18-20mph).

Just two of us onboard there really wasn't any problems. We could easily go head wind and still be above hump speed. I didn't want to push too long against the wind just because there was no need to do so. Wouldn't want to break my craft just for fun (what kind of a fun would that be anyway?). And at this point other boaters are rare sigth so if we got in trouble we'd be there by ourselves no one lending a hand.

We drove here and there without any specific target. I felt very comfortable operating the craft in windy conditions. We saw the same swan family that we stopped to observe in summer just minutes before i noticed we had engine problems. They are really used to people i think since they didn't pay much attention to us.

But soon it was time to call it a day and head back to hoverport for meal and sauna later.
