Shake down test of the new engine
continues. |
|
|
After almost couple weeks of rain and cloudy weather the
sun was almost shining and rain was not to be expected. Time to test the
new engine, especially observe the temp gauge after short while of operating. |
|
Just two of us onboard we operated quite locally to see
if everything works as it should or are there problems with the engine
that so far we had no clue of. |
|
We did perhaps just 20 minutes but it was obvious that
after a while temperature rises above thermostat set level 82C. At the
end of our shortish run gauge was showing 90-92C. Not too happy about that,
but there wasn't time for modifications as we all wanted to get back in
time to watch the Monza Formula1 GP start on TV. |
|
Next things to experiment are: are the figures that my
temp gauge is showing correct or not. Try to operate without the thermostat
and see how long it takes before temperature raises. As a last resort i
thinking of changing the radiator for even a bigger one that Volvo unit
i now have. Maybe going for a custom made unit using parts of the radiator
i now have. |
