Explorer operation (2001-06-24)

After sleeping another night sleep in the Explorer and listening rain during the night day was sunny but again very windy. Quite the same as yesterday.

I decided to take a brief run just after breakfast mainly to shoot some video. I chopped some willows while going out and getting in to hoverport.

We also got on tape one of the fuel pump relay probmlems. It's not a big thing to fix, but sure bothers to get back there and move the relay a bit.

Later on same morning i did the usual round, but this time carefully choosing my route so that most of the way would be tail or side wind. I managed to record speed of 50km/h side wind on a way back and did a short veggy drive too.

All in all the weekend that was supposed to be a real hoverin weekend for me did flatten out because of the windy weather. I don't have any doubts that i couldn't have made it anywhere i wanted to with my Explorer in this weather, but just because i didn't have i didn't want to push it too much. Friday was calm, but we spend the best of it installing the ligths and since nothing but warnings were given to all boaters in Finland coastline.

But i'm very pleased of getting my copy of GPS Utility. When weather is not good for actual hovering you can always do it virtually on your PC, just set GPS to simulator mode.
