After having a good nights sleep
in the Explorer for the first time ever it was time for some onboard breakfast
and a morning drive. |
|
|
I should have driven more yesterday or during night that
was now obviuos when wind was rather hard (~10m/s, ~22mph). I even woke
up in the early hours of morning and checked the weather and should have
taken a ride then. |
|
First ride was just on the river. I left the hoverport
normally to later pick up few passenger from a pier. As i struggled against
the wind to get the craft positioned correctly for passengers to step it
seemed hopeless. Finally i got the craft way i wanted and first of the
passengers was about to step in she asked me why all this water ? |
|
Yep, of course i had forgetten to put back the draining
plugs. Quickly back ashore and leave the craft in way water will ran out. |
|
Second try, plugs in place. This time it was just me and
the "Mrs." and we took off from the hoverport. We headed downstream and
got to the bay. There wasn't too much waves there surprisinly. Wind was
hard, but came from inland and therefore no waves. But wind sure was significant.
Going headwind was not much of a option as i don't want to push throttle
wide open. |
|
We got back right away, i just made a quick note of how
far we approximately we from a point i had waypointed earlier. |
|
Later on same day we did almost the same route, just the
other way. This time we had to go headwind for a short run, but we had
some speed so our speed din't fall to zero as i managed to turn to sidewind.
There were couple of boats coming towards us, but i tried to seek a more
protected course closer to shore line. I don't know about the engine temperature
even now it sometimes climbs closer to 100C than 90C. We got a new thermostat
for 82C, but didn't have to install it as lights took so much time. |
|
We didn't drive much more, hoping it would be better weather
tomorrow. |
