I thought that engine would now start
more easily because it was only yesterday when we operated the craft, but
no. We struggled for two hours before it started to idle smoothly. There
sure is moisture somewhere, but we didn't find it. Next time i will bring
a spare battery with me so i don't have to go and get it separately. |

It was good that we were there early and this didn't ruin
our hovering day. At 13:15 we were on our way in a sunny weather. |
|
Again once running it run well without any problems. We
decided to stay on ice and not to hover over water as it gets annoying
to try to crank the engine numerous times. |
|
We headed right away to south-east to explore ice situation.
We had a light head wind and GPS showed 33-35km/h (~21mph) speed. Now we
found out that in this direction solid ice was 3-4 times than before cold
weather. We could have gone to practically to the furthest island before
open sea by ice. However we would have had to inevitably cross at least
some amount of open water too and did not want to do that. |
|
So we took the southern route back. This turned out to
be longer than expected. And after all we had to go under two bridges that
had open water flowing rapidly underneath them. This was populated area
so we took "the risks". We got through and headed around islands towards
bridge where part of the windmill park is located.
Those cars looked like ants when they passed the four large mills. |
|
After windmills i decided to take eastern route (longer)
to our destination. First time this winter we saw cars and tractors on
ice. Weather was perfect, it's good that this happens at the weekends and
not so much during the week. |
|
We did 38,2km (23,7miles) in a sunny weather at average
speed of 25,8km/h (16mph). |
